Privacy Policy
Effective March 6, 2026
1. What this policy covers
This policy applies to the Liminal website and the Liminal macOS app.
2. Information we process
The core product workflows are local-first. Screenshots, annotations, pins, and related local files are processed and stored on your Mac by default.
3. Data you may provide
We only collect information you provide directly:
- support email addresses and messages,
- support attachments you voluntarily send,
- app settings and preferences you configure,
- App Store transaction metadata as handled by Apple.
4. Data we process during normal operation
The app uses required macOS permissions to capture, annotate, and pin your screenshots, paste content, and save local data. We do not use this access for advertising, behavioral analytics, or user profiling.
5. Website data
Website visits may generate routine technical data through hosting infrastructure (for example, IP address, browser and device metadata, request timing). This is used for operation, security, and abuse prevention.
6. Cookies and local browser storage
We do not use third-party tracking cookies for cross-site profiling. Any cookies or local storage used by the website are limited to site functionality and protection.
7. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information only when required by law, valid legal process, fraud prevention, or to defend our rights.
8. Data retention
We retain support communications as needed to resolve requests. Screenshot and pin content remains where you store it locally until you delete it.
9. International transfers
If any hosting infrastructure receives technical logs outside your country, those transfers may occur under provider safeguards and the laws applicable in those locations.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion of support records, and limits on certain processing, subject to legal exceptions.
EEA/UK users may have additional rights under data protection laws, and California users may have rights under applicable state privacy law.
11. Security and responsibility
We use reasonable safeguards in design and infrastructure. However, no software or service is perfectly secure.
12. Children
The App is not intended for children under 13, and you should obtain required consent where local law applies.
13. Changes
We may revise this policy from time to time. Continuing to use Liminal after publication indicates acceptance of the revised version.
